Under 17 permitted without an adult
Page 1
Smoking, drinking, R rated movies, bars. If you're not an adult you aren't allowed. How many of you are thinking "Bummer!"? Well don't. You don't need any of that anyway.
You
hear it all the time. "You're not old enough.", "That's for grown
ups.", "This isn't for kids.", "That's for mommies and daddies."...
Let
me tell you something many people never figure out. Most of that is
really code for "This stuff isn't good for anyone but you are young and
we better protect you from it." The sad truth is that much if not most
of what we call Adults Only God would call Sinners Only.
The good news is that there is something better than all that and it isn't just for adults. Faith and the word of God is for all ages! Many have the attitude that Sunday school is for the kids but the real stuff is for the grownups. Not! What is the real stuff anyway? It is faith. It is learning and understanding the word of God, and living it. Do you think just because someone is an adult that they get that? No. All you have to do is watch the news and you will see that isn't true.
God wants you to understand that you aren't supposed to wait until you get older to call on him. Even a small child can have great faith and love for God! Christ wants the children to come to him!
Matthew 19:13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. KJV (King James Version)
Suffer is the way people used to say Allow. So what he said was Allow little children. Do not stop them from coming to me.
The same incident is recorded in the book of Mark.
Mark 10:13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. 16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. KJV
Children are innocent and faithful. That is something God loves. In fact that quality is something we must have to receive The Lord's kingdom. Look at this discussion between Christ and the disciples
Matthew 18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
